BASIC INFORMATION

Name: Buffy Summers

Canon: Buffy the Vampire Slayer; post-season 7

Age: 22

Bio: Buffy Summers was called as a Vampire Slayer at age 15, and since then she has saved the world… a lot. She is a very unorthodox slayer; she was not trained by the Council to put her destiny before all else, and therefore refuses to give up her normal life. She uses her emotions to help her fight, and has friends who help her save the world, instead of depending on only herself. It is perhaps these differences from the typical slayer that has kept her alive for so long; in truth, she's one of the longest-lived slayers in history. But at the same time, she feels even more alone when she is with them, because none of them will ever understand what it’s like for her. That’s the price of being a Slayer.

She has always been very unlucky with the men in her life. Her father took himself out of her life when she was a teenager, Angel left her because their love was ultimately doomed, Parker used her for a one-night stand, Riley couldn't handle her being the Slayer, and Spike... Well, Spike was complicated. Because of this, she doesn't have the best confidence in her own ability to have a decent, healthy relationship, and she's somewhat wary of trusting men with her heart.

Buffy no longer feels as close to her friends after the events prior to the battle with the First, when even her sister chose to side against Buffy. She sees it as the ultimate betrayal; they turned their backs on her the moment she failed to be their perfect hero and it will take a lot for her to truly forgive them.

SLAYER INFORMATION

SUPERHUMAN ABILITIES
As a Slayer, Buffy has supernatural speed, strength, agility, and durability. She also has accelerated healing, heightened awareness of surroundings, and a "spidey-sense" for detecting supernatural creatures, but especially vampires. And there's the occasional (incomprehensible) prophetic dream and magical access to the collective memories of the Slayers. Slayers also have a natural affinity for weapons of all types; Buffy can pick up any weapon and learn how to use it almost instantly. None of this means that Buffy is invincible - she's died three times (drowning, mystical energy electrocution, gunshot), it just doesn't stick very well when her friends are involved.

HUMAN ABILITIES
On the normal girl side of things, Buffy is a pretty good cook and a decent student in the right academic environment (ie, college vs high school). Driving is not a lauded part of her skill set.

PERMISSIONS: In-Character

Physical Affection: Buffy is a touchy-feely type of person with those she is close to; others may receive odd looks and other reactions (possibly including violence) depending on the type of affection. Feel free to contact OOC to discuss!
Physical Violence: Violence is okay so long as no gory results are involved -- please discuss first for that.
Romance/Relationships: Buffy thrives on her relationships. Romantic, platonic, she needs to surround herself with people she trusts and cares about, especially found families. She's kind of in love with Spike at the moment, but might be open to romantic entanglements of various sorts depending on the CR.
Mental Information: Buffy doesn't have any defenses against telepath and empath characters, so just hit me up OOC to discuss and I'll give you details to play with!
Offensive Subjects/Triggers: Buffy won't handle being confined in small spaces well, thanks to having to claw her way out of her own grave.
Anything Else? Puns are her preferred lifestyle.

ABILITY PERMISSIONS

Buffy has a "spidey-sense" for detecting supernatural creatures, especially vampires. If your character isn't human, is it okay for Buffy to sense this? If yes, what exactly might she be able to sense from your character? I'm happy to follow your lead on whether she would accurately sense a species/ability or whether she would just vaguely know someone isn't human.

Due to the way Slayers were created, Buffy has the essence of a demon in her. Does your character have any supernatural abilities that might not be effective on her because of this?

Leo is a monster called a Sunai from his world, so I'm sure Buffy would get some "not human, probably monster" tingles off of him, but probably not know exactly what he is since he's kind of a rare monster even in his world.

Hmmmm, as to the second one, his song to compel people to allow him to eat their souls is meant for humans, so idk if it wouldn't work as effectively on her? I'll leave this one up to you!

Hi! Logan can't do anything to demons, so we're good on that front unless she's, like, weak to metal stuff like adamantium.

She can sense Logan's not human, but that's probably it since mutants are really close to humans anyway? Just that there's something "off" about him, probably. do mutants exist in buffy canon

Hi there! Yuuki's a vampire, so I'm totally down for her realizing Yuuki's not human. I'm not sure if she'd ping the same as the vampires in her world though. She was never human to begin with and vampires in her world are living, so they never lost their souls or anything! That said, Yuuki's at the top of the food chain in her world even among vampires, so I'm sure she'd be able to tell there's something different/possibly powerful there. Whatever you want to roll with.

As for the second, I don't know! It's up to you. Yuuki in general causes people to sort of be enamored with her because it's............. easier to catch prey that way biologically SHE DOESN'T EAT PEOPLE THOUGH. It's up to you whether you want Buffy to feel anything in regards to that. Yuuki can mind/body control individuals too, but she wouldn't do it to begin with, and I'd just give you the call on that matter if you wanted it to work or not on the rare chance that Yuuki would.

The only thing Yuuki's been doing even relatively close to that in game is having entered someone's mind to communicate with him more easily, and that was only because he wanted her to! And because it's a close friend from her own world. She's just sticking to the devices otherwise. I have a permission form too which might help with hashing things out between the two further.

Buffy is good to sense that Kurama isn't human! Beyond that, she is...not likely to get a good read, honestly, because at this point, he's a solidified semi-divine spirit in the shape of the human body his fox demon soul merged with in the womb.

yes to the top! vanessa is a witch and would probably be surprised to be sensed/figured out. she would also be able to get a sense of buffy's power too though im going to say only if she actively tried to read buffy (which id plot out)

vanessa knows spells that are made to ward off evil/expel demons. her wards have failed before which could happen (protective barriers stopping non humans from entering). she hasnt set any up yet though

So, Zero is from the same canon as Yuuki (sunflowering)is, fwiw! Although Zero is pretty different than she is, including a different type of vampire.

He's kind of a special case, though. In VK, hunters are along a certain lineage; they possess traces of vampire DNA in them, therefore aren't 100% human, granted those are the finer details. To vampires, they're basically humans. Zero, though, is also a vampire. I am more than fine w Buffy sensing that. I imagine that, while he gives off a vampire's presence, it also may read as something a little different, given being a hunter. He was born into it, but unlike Yuuki, he is not a vampire from birth. Regardless, as w Yuuki, Zero is plenty alive. He has a warm body, his heart beats, and there isn't anything re souls in VK. He's consumed copious amounts of Yuuki's blood, though, so there's the possibility that Buffy may pick up on how Zero gives off that kind of presence. Other vampires have called him out on it in canon, so it would make sense.

As for the second; there's nothing too particular in those regards. He's resilient/can break through anything involving mind control, but that's probably something that wouldn't be relevant, anyway.

In general though, I am more than okay w Buffy even calling him out on this. :') And they should spar at some point, as he has w Faith. I have a permissions post that includes how others may perceive him as, should that be of interest.
